Nighm, the Nesting Nose

THEY CAME FROM OVER YONDER: Nighm, the Nesting Nose

Nighms hail from the forests of Glams-Hibbus. These little demi-humanoids aren’t sapient, to the best of our knowledge. That being said, they do exhibit human like qualities. Their ears are capable of ensuring that if a tree falls, someone is going to be around to hear it. They use their robust noses, that encompass their body like a helmet, to sniff out woods, metals, and stone. The can smell the impurities in materials, and only take those of the highest quality.

For what, you might ask? Nighms are renowned for their nest building and construction. A family of Nighms will erect huts around the forest floor and in treetops, as well as the occasional bridge or stairway. It is theorised that in a few hundred years, Nighms will develop complex thought and become truly sapient, but for now they are content to simply provide shelter for the beings of the forest.

The Nighm does not have any natural predators. They used to but most of the creatures of the forest decided that getting into their nests was was too much of a hassle. As time went on, and other creatures started to use their discarded huts, and decided to leave the Nighm alone as a sign of respect.
